Let's be honest. How hasn't heard of City of Bones? Whether your
the box office fails (like me) or just a huge fan of the books (also like me)
City of Bones by Cassandra is a worldwide phenomenon. I absolutely

Here's the goodreads synopsis:
When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing -- not even a smear of blood -- to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?
This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .
Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.
This world is absolutely unique and like nothing you have ever read before.
Shadowhunters (despite the cheesy name) are these strong kick-butt nephilim, which are basically half angel-half human, and they fight to save humanity from demons and other horrible things.
Demons come in all forms and they can even make themselves look human. Only Shadowhunters can tell what's a demon, and even they have trouble some time.
The Shadowhunter world is hidden from mortals, or mundanes as we call them in the book.
When Clary Fray starts seeing all these muscled guys and girls killing what look like humans, she thinks she's going crazy, but she soon finds out that she is a Shadowhunter and that her mother has been keeping this from her all of her life.
But right as Clary finds out her true identity, Jocelyn Fray (Clary's mom) is kidnapped by Valentine, who is the villan in this story.
Valentine is looking for the Mortal Cup, which is the only way to make shadowhunters (besides the Shadowhunters having kids)
Now the Shadowhunters are also looking for the Mortal Cup and Valentine is convinced Clary's mom has it.
The Shadowhunters just want the Mortal Cup while Clary just wants her mom back.
With twists and turns you'll never expect, a totally amazing male lead and an awkward love triangle, this book is definitely one of my favs!
Intricate, humorous and amazing! 500 pages of perfection! Its a must-read!
